Great job man. You did what i'm thinking of trying,combining the engine cradle to the KLR frame. I havent attempted it yet but thats my original thought process.

Start with a KLR minus engine and front forks. Insert a Versys engine (70hp) and gearbox(6 speed). Install some 50 mm aftermarket inverted front forks from a KLX450 and a custom MOAB long travel rear...

To bad the 2011 KLR'S are out and all KAWI did was change colors.........again. I do think it'll happen, one day. A kit would be great but liability insurance will keep anyone from attempting it.

Happened to the other replies.....This proposed bike wouldnt threaten the Versys sales. Some like dirt some dont. Just like the 650R and the ER6N. Same bike different headlights and the 6N is naked....

You do realize that a fully wet 08+ KLR. is already close to 500 lbs. At least this proposed bike would have the properly HP and Torque to move it

I don't think so. The fact is some people will still buy the Versys just because they want a cheap sports bike. Those people will never go off road. And honestly the Versys wasn't made to go off...

And it has to have a curb weight well under 500 lbs. Its doable seeing how the KLR weighs 432 lbs. now. The Versys weighs 450 lbs according to Kawasaki. Same 6 gallon tank as well.
