Dealer pressure tested the tank to make sure the cap wasn't letting rainwater leak in, and they said it was fine....so yeah, I guess I just bought a tank of really bad gas.

Yep...tested out as a bad battery at the dealership.

......and get this, Yamaha warrantied it. That's awesome service. Replacement battery should arrive in a couple of days. Will report results.

Ok...so this is exactly what happened to me too. Rick sent a new coil (very fast shipping, excellent service) and the bike runs great now. Maybe there was a bad batch of 1.5 OHM coils?

Just spoke with Rick at Motorrad ElektriK....after a short discussion, he's certain this is a bad coil. So, new parts on the way. I will post results.

Yep, everything checks out fine right up to the coil....swapped the plugs left->right, did the same with the wires, then checked wires with OHM meter just to be sure....
I have the brown 1.5 OHM...

To follow up...I had the battery tested today after spending all night on the trickle charger...100% bad. My mechanic said a cell probably failed and that was enough to kill it.
