Nice roads...

Glad you survived the mud and water. I came to this story recently but the high drama is real compelling.

Found this trip linked on a Hayanusa site....

Nice pictures and looks like a tremendous journey. Alas, I sold my GS as I never got farther down than the Carolina's...

My current ride would do real well on this trip...

No, I am saying that....

I dynoed the bike with no cat and stock muffler and picked up 3 hp.

I expect with full system and mapping ( PC3) to pick up at least another 5 hp.

Lean with full system

2005 onwards battery draw

On my 2005 there was a fault that if you did not turn the bike to the lock position there is enough of a draw to kill the battery. Mine had the recall done, it was a 2005. They told me...

HP gains...

FYI,

The 3-4 Hp gain was for removing the cat on a stock system and stock muffler.

Properly mapped with full system I expect 8-10 HP at the wheel.

Cool2 Whose pipe?

I drove down to work with Ear plugs and at open throttle it definitely needs the restrictor for street use.

The quality has improved markedly, certainly on par with the other USA made pipes.
