The kickers are fairly wanky and seem to always leak at the shift shaft.The shafts can get dirty and score or get slightly bent causing the drag.There is an o-ring in there that seems to go away...

From what I can tell your airfilter is one of those shredded aluminum foil dust catcher things.If that is the case you can flush it with carb cleaner,or brake cleaner.
