I have not tried those, but I do have a pair of ski gloves that work wonderfully...

I only use them when skiing, not on the bike but the application should be similar.

Get some steel leaders for fishing. They come in most any size, from 3" to 16" or more. Clip one end to your tankbag, jacket, or other convenient point, works great. Much better than multiple licks...
