This is the easy way

If you have a motorola bluetooh ear piece, the wall charger and auto charger works with the hero hd! Wally world should have them cheap, if not. The ZUMO 550 power cord works also, (the 110 volt...

Welcome to the club

FWIW, just bite the bullitt and have it rebuilt, stem to stern. Think about the bronze pivot bushings in place of the oem bearings. If your bike is a low miles bike, there is a possibility of...

Do your maintence, Keep you eye on the boot.

Do the FD service every other oil change and watch the boot for seeping. If the seal is leaking, it's a good bet the bearing cage is coming apart, with the crown bearing to follow shortly. Be...

Gotta read the content more closely

We're talkin' about a final drive failure, as in bearings, races, gears and other such dohicky gizmos here, not a seal, which costs a few bucks and is a wear item.

The road to enlightenment starts with a small step

A quote from a fellow ADV'ER:

Right. Add to the store of near useless info. :bluduh

You can not compare the R11xx and K1100 drives to the R1200 drives (and newer K1200 drives). They are...

I think it's more than 1%

I have 3 beemers and sold the 4th. So I'm not a single owner griper. My bmw's have cost me a fortune in repairs and issues. Even BMWMOA is on board with some of these issues and asking some bold...

And then ride it, 'cause you are going to have no fun once you get that beast in the dirt and when you bring it home, likely on a trailer, you will have caused at least 2.5 k in damage. I really...

There is some logic here.

[quote=bush pilot]I researched the question a bunch before buying my 1100gs.
From the financial point it's a no brainer, get the 1100gs.
From an owner/mechanic standpoint the 1100gs wins also. It's...

Nature of the beast, use a battery tender, have a good battery, drive it a few minutes, stop, turn off key, then restart. There is a fix, but probably not worth the effort and expense. Great bike...

Speaking strictly about the GS (as opposed to the new (er) line of off-hwy specific bikes), the GS is an ADVENTURE motorcycle, not a DIRT BIKE! It is a huge, unwieldly, poor handling (in the dirt)...
