The copper pivot bushes are going OK though. About 1000km of 50/50 use.

I had a similar fault in a switchboard once. The screw tab on a hrc fuse had separated from the cartridge. Can be a bugger to find when intermittent.

Pulled it apart tonight and sure enough, the cage is in a hundred bits.
Everything else looks OK...

Mine gets creaky when the nipple starts to bind up. Might try cleaning up the surfaces, good idea.
Also thought about using graphite. Dirt sticks to the grease.
