Success ! the petcock was not allowing enough fuel through and that didnt show up til mid high rpm and was compensated by fuel screws lower. Now it pulls cleanly through 7 or 8k and i don't care...

depends, the manufacturer is somewhat constrained with emissions regulations so even say the ktm akra map for the 690 and 990 may not be exactly what you want.RC8 forum probably has some answers....

i found that the diaphragms go bad after a while and the fuel pump might still work with 10k miles on it but by replacing it,or ii guess the points, there was a noticeable difference
