That is one thing I dont know how to check. I usually just hit the start button. Sometimes if it starts off on the compression stroke ( Im assuming) it rolls really hard for a second then its fine.

update
A little update. I had to try it.....I dropped my oil from 15W50 to 10W40. Fired right up this morning but its in the lower 60s so that dont mean a thing. Tommorow will be the test if it really drops...
