I know a few people who have used them for their businesses. Finish quality is not fantastic and definitely won't set any performance records but I have heard mechanically they are very reliable.

Turn off ASC

As the previous post stated the ASC definitely would cause the bike to act the way you descibed the easiest way to check is to switch it off and ride quite hard (lots of throttle on accelleration)...
