I think about all the helo parts I cleaned in the Navy using stuff like Turco, methyl ethyl terrible, some strong purple colored soap that would strip paint, and God knows what else.....

For longer range get a pressurized water fire extinguisher. Charge it with air from your compressor. Gets a good 30' range.

Yep, no real way to bleed it except pump it up and down. I do have a parts diagram for the pump, and I can get a rebuilt powerpack from Milwaukee with the old one as a core. O ring set runs about 45....

It's leaking a bit from the ram seal, but not what I would call excessive. Normal lift is 24", I can get 12" out of it. Fluid is topped off.
