Mine failed on an 09 and I used the piezo electric BBQ lighter fix and it has been working flawlesslys for the last 2500 miles.

The stock oil cap seems to collect a bunch of sand/dirt around the top and side of the cap in between the cap and the block. It's above the threads but makes it problematic to access without a risk...
