The positive is wired to the starter.

You can use the brake lever but squeeze real slow.
I'd put a couple of pieces of wood to even out and cushion the pistons as they come out.

The magnets in the old starters become loose sometimes.
There's a metal cover in the starters that comes loose sometimes also.

The big hoses HAVE to be replaced with fuel submersible hose.

Mine has both turn signal and 4-way flasher blinkers.
Most likely, the relay is faulty.
