If handlebar master cylinder ensure the return hole is clear. It's very small and in the base of the reservoir. A retrograde bleed might also help there....

I managed that once. The bike wouldn't idle no matter what. The plug caps were old /5 or /6 type on a post '80 R100RS. I took a chance, and within 10 minutes of the seller leaving, bingo, idled fine....

They will return eventually of course, so whatever solution works best in the time span required in the climate...
