Hmmm, Guess I had forgotten that I ignored the advice then. I did not recall that the owner's manual cautioned against it then. Makes me feel a little better as I had no trouble with it at any point....

I just picked up my new LC GSA. On my 1100 GS and 2005 1200 GS I charged the battery through powerlet socket direct to the battery. This allowed me to bypass the whole Canbus issue on the 1200.
