So... it sounds like the bottle neck is the actual carb and not related as much to the jetting. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to buy a pumper carb at the moment...

I'm in the process of re-assembling my '00 XR400 to install the 440 kit. The cylinder has been bored and the new sleeve pressed in.
Does anybody out there have a 440 kit installed...
