My exhaust is not mounted with the full Leo setup because I couldn't get the bracket to hold tight. It's directly mounted to the frame as high as possible so that might have helped with my clearance....

My battery was replaced under recall after it failed and BMW had to tow the bike. Battery warranty in the manual is 24 months...I am familiar with the manual since mine is in for the rear air...

I don't think it's a must have but it sure is nice. I find the rear brake on the X to be strong (easily locked) and the ABS is helpful especially on wet pavement.
