Looking at the bike I don't believe it has more than 100K on the clock. The Muffler headers are still shiny and all paint on the engine looks like new.

Input shaft spline noise ocures the most when the engine is idling and the clutch is not pressed. When you press the clutch the rattle noise should reduce dramatically.

Turned to be a worn out transmission input shaft...

Turned to be a worn out transmission input shaft spline. Had failure on my trip I had to replace the clutch disc and transmission input shaft.

You will be surprised if you say aluminum does not rust. For touch paint is too late. I rather need a special paint coat which will protect it or just replace the cover. I will post some pix later.

You can use a 3M clear protective film from Ebay . Once you cut the right size and stick it to the light you will not even notice is something there. Once done your light will be truly bulletproof.
