I did this a few months ago, I bought a 950 because I couldn't stand the injection on my 08 990, Yea I did the throttle thing and all the remaps but try riding switchbacks with your wife on the back...

Do like I did, I did the throttle cam butterfly removal, and was still unrideable in tough situations, I finally put carbs on, what an improvement, wonderful to ride now, not easy though

My 990 was so freaking bad I bought a 06 950 and exchanged the injection for the carbs, the 990 is perfect now but would not recommend that switch unless you are a really good mechanic,
