My k1600 is always covered at hotel/motel parking...

My k1600 is always covered at hotel/motel parking lots. One it keeps curious eyes off your stuff. Two it offers son weather protection. Check out Nelson-rigg covers, compact and reasonable in price....

My 1200GS with vario cases, including top case hated crosswinds and semi trucks. Ended up trading for a K1600, it is rock solid in most all weather, just a lot heavier

Older diesels benefited from marvel mystery oil and or a quart of ATF fluid in the fuel on occasion. A friend with a kenworth would add a gallon of regular gas to a tank of diesel to clean injectors....
