Actually you have a single wire grounds to the bars or a dual wire that makes a better ground. You want a good ground if your bike is stuck wide open. Grounding at the bar is a crappy ground.

Check the grounds and all connections. The stator usually does not go, it`s the pickup that does. Search the trials central forum as there is a cheap fix.
