So is the plug in question on the ignition? I thought that it was and would
in turn cut power when the key was turned off. My original plan was to just splice it into the park light.

The GS1200 has a knock sensor, you can run whatever gas you want (within reason). The buell I believe needs 91 octane. I dont know what the availability of 91 is in Alaska. I really like the buell...
