Yes I did fabricate the holder. Once attached and locked the lid can't be taken off because of the pin in the plate inserts into the lid. The latch is from Southco.

I assume you are able to ride it once started and put in gear? If it kills when shifted into gear you may want to look into the sidestand switch circuit.
