Done that with the "Harmonizer". The "unbalance" disappears very quickly with increasing throttle openings, even at cruising at say 100 km/h.

If oil sprays out, then they are obviously an emulsion shock, and can only be mounted one way. My guess would be with the valve on top.
If you want to release pressure, you shouldn't do this...
