Interestingly I had the opposite problem on my GS. OEM heated grips fitted and the gap is too big! :lol3

You shouldn't have to lift anything to get the bike on the stand. Your foot gets the stand to do all the lifting, your hands are just there to pull the back backwards (not upwards).
