Umm, yeah. It's not a BMW thing it's your local area it seems. If I can walk in to Canadian Bearings here and walk back out with 5 bearings and the 4 seals in 15 mins......something's wrong there....

The long spacer with the flange goes inside the wheel, yes. That flange goes as you have it, on the disc side. The disc side bearing, circlip and seal go on the wheel first....

The double lipped spring "energizer" fitted things. A good bearing supply place will have them.

We have both bikes and yes, it takes some adjusting when going from the 800 to the 650. Having just ridden the 650 for 14,500 kms overloaded, I was fine with the braking on the insane mountain roads...

Yes, the main wiring harness to the ign switch was constantly flexing from steering action so eventually the wires broke causing all sorts of issues. I'd think a 2013 is too new, low mileage for that.
