I used Velcro I had it sewed to the dishes and used the stick on strips on the tank. I also used a piece of shock cord to tie them together but, it has never been needed.

The fuel cell inspector from the Iron Butt measured it at 4.32 gallons to the overflow. That plus the stock tank equals 11.42, so I am 12oz under the maximum allowed in the IBR.
