After a two hour test ride the verdict is that my bike runs better with inserts out (rather than in) with X-bike jetting. Not a huge difference, but throttle response seems a bit crisper.

Wow. That is horrible fuel economy. You need to see what jetting is in there. FWIW, I got just over 40 mpg with Head2Wind jetting and about 38-40 with Xbike jetting. I don't commute in the city on it...

I kept the inserts in my LVs with the xbike jetting. Way too loud without them. Can't say I've tried inserts out WITH xbike jetting as the other times I had them out I was running the H2W jetting....

The case is great even it looks bulbous. It is the 46L KTM top case (made by Shad). You need to buy the mounting kit for it separately. It's reasonably priced too. Works great for long weekend trips....
