Backround -This is '05 R1200GS with 105K on the clock. Clutch master cylinder and drive shaft replaced at about 85K, final drive at 97K.

I had a similar problem on my '05 GS and it became more noticeable after I mounted new tires. The symptoms were very similar to what you mention except sometimes it was worse than others.
