I had a similar issue, and it was the FI inyector filters.


Yes fuel inyector has a filter, that it can get clogged.

Replaced filters and now bike runs smoother than ever.

searched on the forum, and found it is slighty common on R1200GS, but in 1150??

When decelerating or engine braking I can hear some engine backfiring or rummbling.
