That's not good. I was under the mistaken belief that BMW had one final drive design across the line. For all we know the GS final drive has been made lighter and will be prone to failure.

I doubt it was over 85. I have put in over 9 gallons a few times, at different stations. I think the 8.7 gal spec is a bit low, and the plastic tank has expanded a bit.
