My understandin is that the red line at 50 kph is there for a different reason. It is the maximum speed in some European countries in the city and by law the speedo has to have a red line at 50 kph.

For my R1150GSA, I found it easier to loosen the lower bolt when bike still on the wheels, and not on the center stand. Then you can loosen the bolt, without removing part of the muffler.
