I went the other way & had a BMW hub laced to an Excel rim (from Woodys). Most wheel builders in Aust won't even touch BMW wheels with a 10ft pole, but with a regular spoke pattern I hope it should...

Kaputar is beautiful. As mentioned it can be cold - the top campground is ~900m above sea level. I think its usually pretty quiet there, hot showers in the campground also.
