You need a JD kit first

The JD jet kits and their recommendations are based off of their proprietary needles. So while the actual jetting isn't that far off, without one of their needles installed their brass...

Even at sea level (well .... 1,000 feet) I was still having problems with the OEM recommendations. Bought a JD Kit, read the instructions through before heading out to...

It depends on your state laws and who's financing

In '08 I financed a EFI RMZ-450 (had to try EFI), my local bank required "full coverage" just to cover their liability. But because it was a dirt bike that was never going to get ridden on the road,...

End weights in the handle bars, like street bikes will cut the vibration. Rubber mounted bars will help too, but you'll need a different top triple clamp (not cheap). You could also try thicker...

I'm not afraid of spooge

Another option for getting rid of silencer spooge is to just switch over to a low ash oil like PJ1 Silverfire smokeless, no jetting change required. Although in all honesty, some spooge isn't a bad...

Get a Motion Pro cable

As someone already stated, the Motion Pro throttle cable can fix any year 300, I do not believe that KTM tied both ends of the cable until the 2015 model year.

It's not that either one runs hotter, it's because a 2t can just about completely flood the head & cylinder with coolant passages and a 4t can not. Most of the heat in an engine is in the head and...

Kind of simple

The best way to think about it is that any two stroke that has a real expansion chamber exhaust is supercharged (your weed wacker and most chain saws do not have one). It has to do with the sound...

Good question

I've never ridden one but my personal opinion would be something with EFI that had a lot of torque so a 450 MX bike or maybe KTM's 500exc. I'm sure that a KTM300 would be fun but because of the air...

Engine braking??

Last summer a friend and I swapped bikes for a few miles (my '12 300XCW for his '13 250XCF), power wise my 300 kicked it's rear although the higher rpm limit of the 250xcf was nice. The engine...
