Exactly. At its worst buffeting feels like someone repeatedly slapping their palms against your helmet. I prefer short shields both for the unobstructed view and the cleaner air at helmet level.

The 650 uses 7/8" bars... unless modified, that is. Does your bike have the OEM steel bars or are they aluminum? The walls of AL bars are thicker so the ID is smaller.
