Wow, I think all that yellow tape/paint is creating the opposite effect than what was desired. To me it looks like it's part of the road. Like a weird parking spot or something.

Looks like its been lowered a bit. Mine is lower if it makes you feel any better :) I bought mine used but the clamps were flush with the plastic cap when I got it.

Have you tried heat? If you can find a short piece of steel pipe (thicker wall the better) that fits snug in the end of the exhaust, you should be able to heat the exhaust and pop the end cap right...
