The OP could try drilling it out but the aluminum on the perch...

With some careful planning, I was able to store my longer tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc) under the seat while the sockets and stuff are in the locked tool compartment. No KLR tool tube needed.

Before going with the 705, I used a 14t front sprocket. After the upgrade, I went back to a 15t.

I ride my bike to the ride and the 14t on the road wasn't bad and much better than the 15t on...
