In the southern hemispere the Coreolis effect is opposite the northern hemisphere. The tendency to rotate the opposite direction is probably what causes the gear to go. It was clearly designed to be a northern Hemisphere bike. Someone should make an adapter to make the bike safe to operate south of the equator. BMWs come standard with unihemispherical gears.
