I've run those Hella FF50s for 5 years an over 100,000 miles, but the casings continue to crack and it's hard to find replacements. I replaced the left one 2 weeks ago and within 30 miles it had cracked again. I think the vibes from this particular engine are in compatible (I've cracked 400% more on this bike than the previous 2).
The VisionX are LED and in a nice metal casing. Very impressive. 900 Lumens is not great for lighting up a road, but it is good for conspicuousity, which is what I'm using them for....and bonus- .75 amps.
They may work for lighting the road as well, but I haven't ridden them yet. I'm working for aiming the lights for that fine balance between "hey cager, see me" and "die you-evil-armored-4-wheeled-cellphone-toter".
