Hairspray has worked for me for years - but it is essential to get the cheapest kind you can - dollar store stuff - as it is basically a mild glue. With no conditioners and fragrance.. unless you like that kind of thing.

Works best if you spray both parts and wait until it starts to become tacky. It is a bit of a trick to get it perfect - to slide on and still get tacky. But it works a charm.

My race bike builder just put on a new set of grips and used the spray on alcohol method and it worked awesomely as well - but both parts must be very clean and smooth - which is why I think you need a bit more stick on the not so smooth surface of the heated coils.

Careful if you wire your grips with the heated elements as it can compress the elements and crack them. I wire all my grips BUT my BMW heated jobs.
