Thanks, Terry, that's good info to have. Got pics of his bike, showing such modifications?

BigDogs thread about using one of those Yamahas on the TAT had some good info, too, and as I recall the bike has a stout alternator that cranks out enough juice for all your heated clothing needs. He said it was good at altitude, and pretty good on the highway.

So, with Bob's mods, seems to me this bike could be a sweet spot in dual sport design.
