I would jump at doing it all over again in the years to come - assuming my health, and nearly 68 year old body, holds up.

If fact I would like to think I would be a better rider of it next time from what I learned this time, even though the BAM road will have deteriorated further.

Go, do it.....
Where most people fail is at the very first inch (2.5cm) of the journey.
They just dont get that far!
