Thanks for the memories
Thanks for the memories Artlocks
I served 18 months between TDYs at Clark Air Base (1st Mobile Comm Grp) between 1969-1970. Northern Luzon is where I learned to ride my new Honda CB350. 12,000 miles in 8 months of riding. I spent many weekends between Blue Beach (just outside of Dagupan) and Bagio.
Blue Beach Circa 1969-1970:
Now I really do need to take all the slides I took from Luzon, Tiawan, and Korea and have them digitized.
You are right about riding in the Phillipines. You either learn defensive riding REALLY FAST or you will DIE FAST. I got run off the road a bunch of times by on coming traffic in my lane. Once by a Water Buffalo and her calf. I was doing about 70 mph and took an impromptu detour though an 8 ft deep ditch out into a sugar cane field. It's funny...now .
Thanks again for the memories.
