Rick has the Nippondenso. It's the starter that comes from a Toyota pick-up truck but has a different gear to mesh with your flywheel. Never heard a bad thing about them but they cost twice as much as a Valeo.
They are both lighter than the stock Bosch and draw less amps. I haven't read anything showing that the Nippondenso is better than the Valeo at all, much less twice as good.
