It had been mentioned to ride further down the road to see some interesting stuff.
So I did !
Looking at the map before I left I knew I would run into the Delaware River.
I was amazed at how wet the land was all around.
The water was almost over the road.
The name of the road is Floodgate Road.
There is a reason for that.
When we pulled up to the end of the road the road went up-hill.
Here is a picture looking down.
Aparently this is a levee we were on.
I never knew the Delaware River had any levees.
I sure wouldn't want to live there.
The river level was a lot higher than the road we had come in on.
Here is a little information on the levee
here in Logan Township.
I thought about using this picture as the next tag.
That is the Commodore Barry Bridge
that crosses into Chester, PA.
The reason I didn't want to use this is that it was too close to the last tag.
Assuming I would get this one (suspense music here........yes, we got it!).
After work on Tuesday we are headed out for a new tag in another direction.
The picture above is looking south towards Wilmington, DE.
The next picture is looking north towards Philadelphia, PA.
You can just barely see it on the right in the picture over the marsh grass between the trees.
