Back in the 1970`s riders in this country would use their airheads on roads where now a lot of people wouldn`t take a GS.

Tires were either an Avon Roadrunner rear, with a Metzeler Block C on the front, or in really bad conditions, trials universals. K70`s were good too, as were cheap $20.00 rear Dunlops for a quick dash across the Nullabor.
