On the 650L stand it is a snap to install without the skid plate. With the skid plate on it can be a bear to line up the bolt holes. I assume it will be a similar situation on the 400. I don't have one therefore I don't really know. I will have to wait to get feedback after the first one is installed. I will let you know.
