My trip yesterday was for the purpose of getting the Southern Tag.

It was in a town called Island Heights.
I had never heard of it before, but I found it with little problem.

Here is a view from behind the flag poles.

The body of water in the background is the end of Toms River which empties into Barnegat Bay just to the left.

Here is a marker honoring those who served our country from Island Heights.

I never realized how many communities have markers/monuments to the brave people who serve and have served our great country.

I also like the mention here of these people serving God as well as their country.

Here is a view down river facing east toward the bay.

Here is a view looking up river.

I did get the tag by the way.

It took me just over an hour to get here.
