Eek Spirits Having Flown

Hi Willie. Wish you were here buddy!
So I'm back to the Chiricahua national park for a 2nd day. It is spectacular.
The Heart Of Rocks trail I want to do will take a minimum of 4 hours. Total distance is about 8 miles.
I did'nt want to start too early as it was below freezing. I wanted it to warm up a little and the snow to soften up.

Got started on the trail ~ 11:30 & it would be dark by 5:30 so I figured 6 hrs should be plenty.

This balanced rock is much bigger than it looks & is way high up. I had to go full zoom up thru the trees to shoot it.

Wow! Amazing how so many rock formations can look like live things? Spirits???

Petrified Camel?

It is a great view isn't it. I could stare at this for ages.

What a pair?

Yah, I like it too!

A family that Rocks together stays together!

Punch & Judy

What a character!

Kiss me you fool!

Birds eye view.

A Very peaceful Place

I was enjoying this trail so much & did not have a watch on, but suddenly realised at one point it must be getting late. I needed to get out of there before dark as I did not have a flashlite.

Last mile of the trail was uphill & now I'm having to run if to make it out B4 dark.

Getting darker & harder to see now.

Oh yes the parking lot! Suzi waiting for me

Phew, made it back. What a day. What a place.

Well that was quite the spirited day. Waddid ya think?
Rock on,
