Considering how old these bikes are it probably isn't a bad idea to just replace all the seals and gaskets. I just did all three seals and gaskets on my /5 and it was a fairly pleasant job. You'll need some tools from cycleworks.net. Might as well get the necessary paper gaskets and good Viton seals from them while you're at it. It's so nice having a completely resealed final drive
